The standard edition PS4 and Xbox One versions will be backwards-compatible on both next-gen consoles as well, but without the next-gen upgrades. Notably, one new edition is the cross-gen bundle, which lets you play the game on current-gen hardware, and when your PS5 or Xbox Series X arrive, you can play on the respective next-gen console with all the visual upgrades and shorter loading times. And eat this bag of Cool Ranch Doritos-the very best kind of Doritos and I will broker no argument on the matter.As usual, you can purchase Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in a variety of editions. I’m going to go play some Modern Warfare now. I’m just never as into the Black Ops titles as I am Modern Warfare. Keep it all under the Warzone banner but let us choose which game we want to play. I don’t want a new Warzone map for Black Ops Cold War, I want a separate map for that game, with a separate suite of guns and Battle Pass. My only sadness-and I’ll write about this separately in more detail-is that I love Modern Warfare and Warzone and kind of hope that those are both still supported. I’m ready to just retire futuristic Call Of Duty forever at this point and get back to what made these games so fun to begin with. Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War is quite a mouthful, with or without colons, but I’m very happy about that we’re finally going back in time a bit, or at least we’ll have a “historical” storyline, even if the game jumps between time periods like Black Ops 2.
That’s a Friday, when Call Of Duty games always come out (at least for the past few years) and it’s not the Friday before Halloween, which is probably not the best day to release simply because a lot of people are preoccupied with festivities-though in the age of COVID-19, I fear Halloween will be a very different holiday. My guess-if this game does come out in October-is a release date of October 23rd. A similar promotion happened for Modern Warfare last year, starting early in the month with the game coming out on October 25th.
In any case, that’s the name of the game and the promotion starts on October 5th which could be Black: Ops: Cold: War:’s release date (too much?) or could just be the start of the promotion.
